Showcase Event
DREADMOOR premiered a new trailer during the Secret Sauce Showcase hosted by Offbrand Games in collaboration with Ludwig. The broadcast aired on the official Offbrand Games YouTube channel and streamed across Ludwig’s Twitch and YouTube channels. The showcase ran from July 17 to July 23, featuring DREADMOOR alongside more than 70 upcoming indie titles. The developers also announced that DREADMOOR has now surpassed 350,000 wishlists on Steam.
Demo Launch
The public demo is scheduled to launch on October 6, 2026. Players take command of a fishing trawler across the Submerged Lands, a flooded setting altered by the mutating Sea-Blight. The demo covers the primary gameplay systems, allowing players to explore survival after the collapse of the world. Anglers can retrieve drifting cargo with the Grappling Hook Gun, pick locked containers, and solve puzzles. The ship radio serves to identify hidden destinations scattered across the flooded map.
Trawler Systems
Fishing includes both peaceful and predatory species, which can be processed into materials or traded with local inhabitants. Workbenches allow anglers to craft fresh lures and tackle, while progression advances through the Fishing Skill Tree. Scavenging requires searching cabinets, crates, floating debris, and abandoned containers for crafting supplies. The Ship Upgrade Skill Tree provides options for Hull Armour Mk I, two engine variants, extra fish storage, and a roof-mounted lantern. Trawler operations require refuelling at isolated gas stations or using fuel cans recovered during voyages. Maintenance involves repairing damage after hazardous encounters and removing Sea-Blight polyps from the hull. Anglers can arm themselves with both the Grappling Hook Gun and Harpoon Launcher.
Focus Testing
A closed Focus Test begins on July 24 to gather player feedback prior to the public demo release. Players can register through the official Discord server before applications close on July 22 at 10:00 AM PDT.
