Playtest Overview and Core System Changes

The Submerged Lands reopened during Steam Ocean Fest with a new exclusive fan preview for players. Since the first playtest, the development team has been hard at work improving, reworking, and expanding systems that shape DREADMOOR. Fishing received substantial updates, including an updated UI, improved mechanics, better predator bite behaviour, and mouse or keyboard control options. Crafting systems were refreshed with new recipes along with improved crafting table visuals and UI. Level design adjustments improved the placement of water loot and fish schools across the waterways.

Day and Night Cycle and Night Dangers

A full day and night cycle has been added alongside a functional sleep mechanic. Players can rest at the trader’s pier to skip time, but travelling at night is extremely dangerous. Once darkness settles over the water, tentacles become active and can attack your ship. If a ship is destroyed, it is towed to the nearest dock, but all contents in the cargo hold are lost.
